The evaluation is based on calculations by the Earthworm Foundation.

Co2 emissions, expressed as Co2 equivalents (Co2eq) were calculated per unit of charcoal produced. The data used includes impact on forest, production and transport data and other field information.

The score is calculated as a percentage (0-100%) and then converted into grades from A-E.” A rating is only displayed if an Earthworm field rating is available. Otherwise the product is rated with E.
